Matthew Lewis, who plays plays Neville, has undergone a bigger physical transformation than any other person who works in those films to the point that, when I went to the read through of Half Blood Prince, we were all sitting in this great square and they put all the tables from the Great Hall into this big square so everyone’s facing inwards for the read through. And facing me were Dan, and Rupert, and Emma, and Evanna, and Bonnie, and the main lot. And there’s this really big cool guy sitting there, with a bit of stubble and wearing this woolen hat, and a leather jacket, and I didn’t recognize him, and my eyes pass on, and I sort of thought, ‘That will be the guy they’ve got playing McLaggen’. And then I thought, ‘Where’s Matthew?’ and I looked at him and my god, when did that happen? -JK ROWLING

Harry Potter cast and crew talk about the end of the series
Dan: It’s quiet bizarre, you know, it’s very strange now come to the end of the series, we had a last day and it was just bizarre, you know. Everybody was crying and me and Rupert, I didn’t expect that we’d get particularly emotional but both of us did actually, funny enough.
Rupert: It was a really sad day, we all got really kinda emotional. I think we’ll definitely gonna miss it. Just the realization that I’m never gonna play Ron again, it’s just weird.
Emma: There are some special people who are really important to me and you know to see them everyday, every evening, every morning, you know, they’re a part of my life, and it’ll be those people that I’ll miss.
David Heyman: There’ll be nothing like this. Ever again.
Dan: It’s been amazing ten years, it’s been fantastic. I just feel very lucky to have what I had.
